[Via Satellite 03-03-2015] Malaysia’s largest VSAT technology provider TS Global Networks (TSGN) has selected Hughes Network Systems’ Jupiter System for its existing C-band satellite network. The Jupiter system is typically used for Ka-band High Throughput Satellite (HTS) services, however TSGN has ordered the system in order to upgrade its C-band infrastructure with minimum disruption to users.

The Hughes System on a Chip (SoC) used in the Jupiter system enables high throughput performance of up to 100 Mbps. TSGN will deploy a Jupiter gateway and Hughes enterprise-class broadband satellite terminals at more than 3,000 locations.

“This application shows that the many advantages Jupiter provides for high-throughput satellites can also be realized using conventional satellites,” said Vaibhav Magow, senior director of the Asia-Pacific region at Hughes.
