Romania Cable Systems (RCS) which launched direct-to-home (DTH) market in Romania in 2005 in areas not covered by the company’s cable offerings, hopes to double its number of DTH subscribers before 2010.

RCS already has close to 300,000 DTH subscribers. “With a rough estimation, we think the numbers of subscribers which might be reached by audio operators or DTH operators in the next two to three years is somewhere around 800,000 to 1 million subscribers,” Alexandru Oprea, the president of RCS, told Satellite Today.
