SES Astra signed some key channel contracts in Germany ahead of the launch of its new digital platform, scheduled for the first half of 2007.

SES signed deals with the German TV channels of MTV Networks (MTV, VIVA, NICK and Comedy Central) and the German RTL family (RTL, VOX, RTL II, Super RTL, n-tv, RTL Shop and Traumpartner TV) to use its new digital infrastructure.

The new service will enable TV providers to expand their digital offers, including providing tailor-made digital programs, program packages and services like pay-per-view or near-video-on-demand over satellite.
