Satellite broadband provider Wildblue Communications Inc. has signed an agreement with a Kentucky coalition that wants to provide broadband access throughout the state, Wildblue announced.

The agreement with Connectkentucky, a coalition of technology-minded companies that supports Kentucky’s Prescription for Innovation to provide broadband access to all Kentuckians by 2007, sets up terms and conditions for Wildblue that focus on consumers and small offices in rural areas and small cities, offering potential customers broadband Internet upstream-and-downstream connections

“The future success of Kentucky’s economy will depend largely on our ability to grow, attract and retain technology-based businesses,” Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher, said in a statement.
