Lockheed Martin/Northrop Grumman Team Completes TSat Design Milestone

A Lockheed Martin/Northrop Grumman team announced July 6 that it completed a major system design review of the Transformational Satellite Communications System (TSat) space segment program. The system will provide secure, wideband, mobile connectivity to support network-centric operations on the battlefield.

During the review, the team provided details on its planned architecture and design approach for the system and summarized the results of risk reduction efforts.

“The important review successfully demonstrated our technological readiness and how our integrated TSat solution will bring significantly improved communications performance and unique transformational capabilities to the warfighter,” Rick Skinner, vice president of transformational communications at Lockheed Martin said in a statement.
