EMS Satcom, a division of EMS Technologies Inc., said June 28 that Satcom Direct has integrated EMS Satcom’s Cabin Network Accelerator (CNX) acceleration and compression capability into its communications network. The new service, named Aero X, will give users of in-flight data networks a faster data rate, reducing in-flight communications costs, the company said.

CNX is integrated into the Satcom Direct infrastructure at the base-station level, eliminating the need for dedicated integrated services digital network lines at the customer site. Users who have EMS Satcom’s Enfusion CNX accelerator will benefit from up to four times faster data rates than they would experience without the service, EMS Satcom said.
