U.K. pay-TV operator, BSkyB added 95,000 subscribers in the 2005 first quarter, breaking the 7.7 million barrier for total subscribers, the company said. The operator is on target to beat its target of 8 million subscribers by the end of 2005.

BSkyB is continuing to see steady, rather than spectacular, increases for its Sky+ Personal Video Recorder offer. At the end of March, the operator now counts 770,000 Sky+ households, finally reaching 10 percent penetration of total direct-to-home subscribers.
