Hughes Network Systems introduced its DW7000 family of next generation broadband satellite routers. The family initially consists of two products: the DW7700 for high-end enterprise and government applications and the DW7000 for lower-end business requirements. HNS said the router speeds are up to six times faster than previous generations.

The DW7700 is the first product to be launched and will support two simultaneous LAN subnets and provided integrated serial connectivity, bridging legacy applications into an Internet protocol environment. The DW7700 uses industry standards DVB-S and DVB- S2.
