Thales said Teleglobe International Holdings Ltd. selected Thales’ Opal IP Encapsulator to upgrade its existing DVB network equipment at its Canadian, German and Danish teleport locations. The announcement of the Teleglobe deal came hand-in-hand with an announcement of new features added to the Opal IP Encapsulator, including extensive bandwidth management capabilities allowing operators to perform advanced service plan management; automatic redundancy through VRRP and use of dual path encapsulation within the IP Encapsulator; IPv6 encapsulation with bridging capability between IPv4 and IPv6 both ways; and support for DVB-H with built-in MPE FEC and Time Slicing.
