Zeus Holdings Ltd. said Dave McGlade, the CEO of cellular operator O2 UK, has agreed to become the CEO of Intelsat following the closing of the acquisition, which is expected to occur during the first quarter. McGlade will join Intelsat upon termination of his current commitments to O2 UK. At that time, current Intelsat CEO Conny Kullman will become the chairman of Intelsat Ltd.

McGlade brings what Zeus describes as “extensive senior executive experience” in the telecommunications industry. Zeus said that McGlade led the turnaround at O2 UK, growing that company’s customer base to more than 14 million. Prior to his work at O2UK, McGlade served as west region president for Sprint PCS, and president of Cable Adnet.

“Dave is an accomplished telecom executive and has considerable experience in a number of adjacent markets,” Kullman said in a prepared statement. “He as demonstrated on a number of occasions his ability to transition seamlessly across different parts of the telecom landscape.”
