International Launch Services (ILS) today revealed the details of the launch of a satellite for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). The satellite, which will be used for national security activities, will be launched from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida on a Lockheed Martin Space Systems-built Atlas IIAS launch vehicle. The launch is scheduled for Aug. 27 at 7:06 p.m. EST, and the satellite is scheduled to separate from the launch vehicle approximately 73 minutes after liftoff. This liftoff represents the 30th and final mission for the Atlas II series of launch vehicles.
