Global Locate a San Jose, Calif.-based GPS semi-conductor has successfully integrated its IndoorGPS chip set into the Infineon [IFX: FWB] multimedia platform, which supports UMTS, EDGE, and GPRS cellular standards. Working handset prototypes based on the multimedia platform will be demonstrated during the 3GSM in France. The Global Locate IndoorGPS chipset, consisting of the GL-20000 and GL-LN-22 will offer multimedia platform customers assisted GPS functionality for a variety of models.
