International Datacasting [Toronto: IDC] has won a contract to provide satellite datacasting services to Canadian armed forces deployed overseas. The one- year, C$3.6 million (US$2.47 million) contract calls for the distribution via satellite of digital multimedia content from IDC’s teleport in Ottawa to the Canadian Forces Radio & Television service. This is an encrypted, closed-circuit network for Canadian forces deployed in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and elsewhere in the world.

With an option to renew for two years, the contract has the potential to bring over C$10 million (US$6.87 million) in business for IDC over the next three years.
