L3Harris Technologies confirmed a successful deployment for its first perimeter truss reflector onboard the ViaSat-3 Flight 3 satellite.

SpaceX launched the satellite in late April, the third deployment in Viasat’s trio of high-capacity Geostationary Orbit (GEO) satellites. The satellite will be positioned over the Asia-Pacific region.

L3Harris builds large, deployable mesh reflector apertures and antenna systems for UHF-Band through Ka-Band. Its perimeter truss reflectors have a reflective mesh surface designed to maximize antenna gain and improve performance for advanced communications services.

“This reflector is 30% more compact than the industry standard perimeter truss reflectors while maintaining exceptional surface precision, focusing signals with near-perfect accuracy to maximize data capacity and deliver superior broadband performance to users,” commented Nate Krejca, general manager of Mission Critical RF, L3Harris.
