According to Kay Soon Low, director of the Satellite Technology and Research Center (STAR) at the National University Singapore, interest in satellite technology has exploded in recent years — particularly after the launch of Singapore’s X-Sat in 2011. While the country’s space industry is still relatively young, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) veterans are nurturing the next generation of engineers to fuel the economy of space in the region.
