Kratos Defense & Security Solutions has received multi-million-dollar orders from multiple international customers for GAIA antenna systems by Orbit Communication Systems, now a Kratos company. These orders support Earth Observation (EO) and space satellite communications applications.
Kratos acquired the Israeli satellite mobile systems company in March of this year to expand its portfolio in satcom tracking and communications management technologies.
The orders announced Aug. 19 are for the GAIA 100 Tri-Band 5.5-meter and 6.1-meter antenna systems. The company said these orders reflect growing demand for the tri-band S/X/Ka capability with advanced Ka-band tracking systems
Orbit is also adding a new antenna — the GAIA 100 Tri-Band 6.1 — which is designed to deliver higher gain, improved link margins, and enhanced Ka-band tracking performance. It includes the company’s Auto Track technology for pointing accuracy and can support Low-Earth Orbit (LEO), Medium-Earth Orbit (MEO) and Geostationary Orbit (GEO) missions.
“The market is placing increasing emphasis on ground station performance, particularly as satellite operators move toward higher-frequency communications and larger data volumes,” said Daniel Eshchar, general manager of Orbit Communications Systems. “The GAIA 100 Tri-Band 6.1 was developed to address these evolving requirements by combining enhanced antenna performance, highly accurate Ka-band tracking and a robust, low-maintenance architecture within a single platform.”
