L3 Diversifies Government Space Portfolio with ADS Acquisition

L3 Technologies acquired Applied Defense Solutions (ADS), an aerospace engineering, space situational awareness, and software development company, for approximately $50 million.

The combined business will be rebranded L3 ADS and will provide the intelligence community, U.S. Department of Defense, and NASA with space systems mission planning, space exploration capabilities, and satellite operations. L3 ADS aims to generate approximately $15 million in sales for the remainder of calendar year 2018 and approximately $50 million for calendar year 2019.

“L3 ADS strengthens our business in the mission-critical aspects of space situational awareness particularly in the area of multi-domain command and control,” L3 Chairman, CEO, and President Christopher E. Kubasik said in a statement.
