Leaf Space, the Italian Ground Segment-as-a-Service (GSaaS) startup, plans to expand in the United States. A spokesperson for the company recently told Via Satellite the company is vetting several locations for a U.S. office.

Leaf Space is is targeting a U.S. expansion to pursue both government and commercial markets in the U.S. It’s GSaaS offerings include Leaf Line, a managed, multi-mission ground segment service and Leaf Key, a dedicated ground station management service for constellations. The company works with U.S.-based customers Kleos Space, Momentus, Kepler Communications, and Swarm.

Earlier this year, the company closed a $6 million (5 million euros) Series A financing round. This round brought total financing to $12 million (10 million euros).

“There is a clear appetite among U.S. satellite and launch vehicle operators to simplify, outsource, and maximize the value from ground services and we believe that need is only going to grow,” commented Jai Dialani, head of U.S. business development. “Leaf Space is uniquely positioned to provide expert level GSaaS solutions built upon years of experience with high-profile customers overseas, yet we are nimble enough to offer customers flexible solutions that support their unique business needs and mission requirements at scale.”
