[Satellite TODAY 12-20-11] UAE-based satellite operator YahLive has begun broadcasting the Saudi Sports Bouquet in HD to the European continent via the Y1A satellite located at the 52.5 degrees East orbital slot.
The operator confirmed Dec. 19 that the Saudi bouquet includes six channels, including exclusive broadcasts of Saudi Football League matches. The HD channels can be received in Europe by using any satellite HDTV-compatible receiver using DVB-S2 modulation and MPEG-4 compression.
“Having the Saudi Sports Bouquet among YahLive’s offerings comes as part of our strategy to broadcast in the highest HD quality, whether it is Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and West Asia,” YahLive CEO Mohamed Youssif said in a statement.
Saudi Culture and Information Deputy Minister Riyadh Najm added that the ministry chose YahLive, “for its excellent coverage and strong technical capabilities.”
