[Satellite TODAY 08-17-11] C-Com Satellite Systems has received approximately $1.5 million in orders for its iNetVu mobile antennas from its Russian resellers, the company announced Aug. 16.
The iNetVu antenna systems will be used for oil and gas exploration, military communication, satellite newsgathering and disaster management. The company has already shipped some of the units this month and will complete the order before the end of August.
C-Com said that a number of the antenna systems ordered were configured with its iNetVu 7000C controllers, which support Russia’s Glonass satellite navigation system. The controller also supports the U.S. GPS system, as well as the upcoming Chinese Compass and European Galileo satellite navigation systems.
“The Russian market continues to be a very large and a very important market for C-Com. Our extensive customer base in that region values the cost effectiveness and the high-reliability of our iNetVu antenna systems, which in many instances deliver life saving communication solutions and are counted on to perform reliably every time they are deployed,” C-Com President and CEO Leslie Klein said in a statement.
Separately, C-Com announced it had recently delivered $1.15 million in iNetVu antennas to one of its Asian resellers under a total $2.3 million contract that was announced during its last fiscal year. The order, however, did not ship until this month due to customer requested delays, the company said. The balance of this order is scheduled for delivery in the fourth fiscal quarter of 2011.
