[Satellite TODAY 06-16-11] Orbit Communication Systems, a satellite communications, tracking and telemetry provider, appointed Carlo Rizzo to head its European operations as director of sales and business development, the company announced June 15.

    Orbit said the new hire is part of the company’s initiative to grow its telemetry and Earth observation activities on a global scale and its strategy to expand its presence in European markets.

    Rizzo previously served as U.K. Operations Manager for a former subsidiary of Orbit Communication Systems. He is a member of The Institution of Engineering and Technology, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and the Antenna Measurement Techniques Association (AMTA).
