[Satellite TODAY 07-26-10] Inmarsat equipment manufacturer Cobham Satcom’s HGA-7001 high-gain antenna system has been certified for use on the Airbus long-range family of aircraft, Cobham announced July 23.
The antennas are complemented by Inmarsat SwiftBroadband products, which provide Internet, e-mail, virtual private networking, fax and telephony while airborne, with configuration options to fit a variety of aircraft.
“With the long-range program certified, we can now finalize adding this same capability to the Airbus A380,” Cobham Satcom Vice President of Air and Marine Systems John DeSana said in a statement.
