[Satellite TODAY 05-05-10] Thrane & Thrane’s Aviator 700 SwiftBroadband solution has received Inmarsat type and parts manufacturer approval from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the manufacturer announced May 4.
The Aviator 700, previously marketed under the brand name Aero SB+, was approved after it was installed and tested aboard the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s hurricane hunter aircraft, Miss Piggy.
The approvals allow Thrane & Thrane to begin shipping the system to its enterprise and government maritime customers.
