Oklahoma Telco Orders Video Transport Services from EchoStar

[Satellite TODAY 02-02-10] Oklahoma-based telecoms company BTC Broadband has purchased ViP-TV video transport services from EchoStar to support up to 49 high-definition channels of its IPTV headend, BTC announced Feb. 1.
    EchoStar’s IP video transport service will be part of BTC’s integrated video stream network, which includes an IPTV middleware solution providing testing and integration services from Conklin-Intracom.
    “The new HDTV channels our customers will have access to as a result of this new relationship are key for our strategy of providing the highest quality services and content to our customers using the most current technology,” BTC CFO and COO Bob Rozell said in a statement. Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
