[Satellite TODAY 02-02-10] SkyDelta Satellite Networks has purchased and installed three iDirect Series 15000 universal satellite hubs to expand the reach of its IP satellite broadband offerings to the Middle East, Asia and Africa Regions, iDirect announced Feb. 1.
SkyDelta will leverage the iDirect platform to offer satellite-based broadband Internet packages and other services for small businesses, as well as Evolution DVB-S2 connectivity applications for enterprise networks, including VPNs, video conferencing and Voice over IP (VoIP). SkyDelta will operate its three iDirect hubs from the HSS-Stellar teleport located in Cologne, Germany and connect to Eutelsat‘s satellite fleet for connectivity across most of the Eastern Hemisphere.
“With the iDirect Platform’s advanced technologies, we can expand our business and design Service Level Agreements that meet our customers’ dynamic bandwidth requirements. This is a critical advantage as we strive to help our customers leverage satellite broadband to advance their business goals,” SkyDelta’s Satellite Division Director Mostafa El Farouk said in a statement.
