[Satellite TODAY 10-01-09] Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) has delivered the Intelsat 14 satellite to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla., ahead of its scheduled launch later this year aboard an Atlas 5 rocket, SS/L announced Sept. 30.
    Intelsat 14, based on the SS/L 1300 platform, will replace Intelsat 1R at 315 degrees East.
    The satellite’s hybrid C- and Ku-band payload will provide data, voice and video services for the Americas, Europe, and Africa, and the spacecraft also includes an Internet Router In Space (IRIS) payload provided by Cisco Systems.
