[Satellite TODAY 08-24-09] Planetsky has introduced VelocitySAT, the company’s new satellite communications portfolio and service offering, Planetsky announced Aug. 21.
    The VelocitySAT portfolio aims to offer cellular and PSTN/PTT backhaul, VoIP, IP backbone, broadcasting, VPNs, virtual DSL, disaster recovery and space segment availability to carriers, enterprises, broadcasters and government agencies.
    Planetsky said the portfolio represents a major shift in its product and service offerings strategy, driven by the need to alter its business model for the global recession. Planetsky is now focused on expanding its markets by acquiring additional footprint eoverage while enhancing services and infrastructure.
    “By developing the spectrum of VelocitySAT services and solutions, we have integrated a much better tuned industry-specific approach. We have completely reviewed and improved our infrastructure which has enabled us to open up to a much larger market, serving new and existing clients with both tailor made and turn-key satellite solutions," Planetsky spokesman Yvonne de Knegt said in a statement.
