[Satellite Today 07-16-09] The TerreStar-1 satellite has been placed into its assigned orbital slot and has deployed its 18-meter S-band reflector, TerraStar announced July 15.
The satellite will deliver its voice, data and video services over an all-IP mobile broadband network optimized for smartphone technology.
TerreStar said the satellite’s services will be available to U.S. and Canadian consumers, government customers, emergency responders, enterprises and rural communities.
