[Satellite Today 06-04-09] President Obama has nominated Rob McDowell to serve another term on the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the FCC announced June 2.
McDowell, appointed by former President George W. Bush in 2006, is the only Republican serving on the board after Kevin Martin and Deborah Taylor Tate left the commission in January. Democrats Jonathan Adelstein and Acting Chairman Michael Copps remain on the board.
U.S. law permits up to three members of a single political party to serve on the board at the same time. President Obama has yet to appoint the remaining two members.
