SES has signed a new government deal in Latin America, extending its collaboration with the Peruvian Navy (Marina de Guerra del Perú) to deliver sovereign, multi-orbit satellite connectivity. This will include Geostationary Orbit (GEO) and Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) services to support the Navy’s coastal bases, aircraft, and vessels operating in the maritime domain of Peru. SES announced the deal, Sept. 3.
SES said the Peruvian Navy will now gain enhanced control over its communications infrastructure, including secure encryption and operational management capabilities to reinforce sovereignty and autonomy. This should significantly strengthen the Navy’s operational capabilities in key mission areas such as safeguarding the maritime domain and ensuring maritime security.

The Peruvian Air Force also has a satcom solution powered by the SES-14 satellite, used for bases and pilots and to improve operations across the country.
