[Satellite Today 05-07-09] MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates (MDA) reported revenue of $20.7 million in its 2009 first quarter, a 6 percent decline from revenue of $22.2 million in the same period a year ago, the company announced May 5.
Declining sales of information and geospatial data products, which slipped from $148 million in 2008 to $131 million, largely was to blame for the drop and caused by low activity from lending and conveyance markets.
Revenue from MDA’s space-based satellite systems and robotics business rose, growing from $81.6 million in the 2008 first quarter to $100 million in 2009.
