[Satellite Today 05-07-09] Optisat has released its S2-S receiver satellite unit, a product that combines DVB-S2 satellite front-end with DVB-ASI and GbE IP outputs, the company announced May 6.
The unit is designed to provide a solution for multiple professional applications such as signal distribution direct-to-transmitter DVB-T, DVB-H, CATV and IPTV head-ends feeds.
The company also is marketing the device as a way to generate bandwidth savings and said the S2 has the potential to reduce bandwidth costs by 70 percent using ACM with a return channel for satellite-provided Internet.
