[Satellite Today 05-07-09] El Corte Ingles will distribute Eutelsat’s Tooway satellite broadband service to retail consumers in Spain, Eutelsat announced May 6.
    The two companies signed a distribution agreement that requires El Corte Ingles to commercialize Tooway through its own distribution network, which offers customers installation and maintenance services.
    Tooway will be Spain’s first satellite broadband Internet service that can offer speeds of 2 megabits per second on the downlink and 384 kilobits per second on the uplink at prices comparable to ADSL, according to Eutelsat
    Tooway uses Ka-band capacity on Eutelsat’s Hot Bird 6 satellite at 13 degrees East.
