[Satellite Today 04-07-09] NewWave Broadband has ordered $2 million in satellite communications products from iDirect to expand maritime VSAT service and land-based market, NewWave announced April 6.
Under the terms of the contract, NewWave will acquire multiple iDirect 15000 series universal satellite hubs, line cards and remote routers. NewWave will install iDirect hubs in the United States and Northern Europe while expanding its land-based services that provide enterprise voice and data connectivity across Southern Africa.
The network will use Ku-band satellite capacity from three transponders on Telesat’s T11N satellite.
