[Satellite Today 03-30-09] SATELLITE 2009 RECAP: Gilat Satellite Networks has been chosen by Netcom Africa to provide a SkyEdge 2 serving West Africa’s corporate, energy and financial sectors, Gilat announced March 25.
Netcom, based in Nigeria, will use the SkyEdge 2 voice over IP and high-speed data networking services.
SkyEdge 2 uses DVB-S2 and DVB-RCS for inbound and outbound channels, enabling the delivery of voice, broadband data and video services for diverse environments including enterprises, rural networks, cellular backhaul and government network applications.
