[Satellite Today 03-26-09] Albacora Group, a commercial fishing company based in Spain, has retained an Inmarsat FleetBroadband system from Stratos Global Corp., which Albacora will use to manage the daily operations of a tuna fishing vessel, Albatun Dos, Stratos announced March 23.
    Stratos said the deal was solidified after the completion of a three-month field trial, which was conducted onboard the Albatun Dos in the Indian Ocean. Applications tested over FleetBroadband during the trial included office applications, videoconferencing and fish-finding programs, CatSat and SeaStar.
    Stratos channel partner, Satlink, managed the installation of a FleetBroadband 250 terminal manufactured by JRC, which was integrated with the vessel’s local-area network.
