[Satellite Today 03-10-09] EMS Satamatics has received Germanischer Lloyd-class approval for its latest Long Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) solution, EMS announced March 9.
The small size of the approved SAT-201i-LRIT solution allows it to be discreetly placed on board ships, EMS sai. The solution enables vessel compliance with the LRIT SOLAS regulation V/19-1.
LRIT compliance became mandatory for flag operations at the start of the year.
