[Satellite Today 09-18-09] Costa Rica’s national telecommunications operator, Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE), has ordered a Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. SkyEdge VSAT network, Gilat announced Sept. 18.
ICE will use the system to expand its programs to provide toll-quality telephony to rural citizens. ICE has deployed Gilat VSAT networks since 2005.
The value of the contract was not revealed.
