BlackSky, a division of Spaceflight Industries, selected satellite communications provider Atlas Space Operations to provide telemetry, commanding, and data support for its high-revisit, Earth imaging satellite constellation. Atlas will be offering support via new ground station sites in Guam and Japan.

The Atlas ground network consists of 17 operational and planned antennas, using its Freedom software platform to provide automated pass scheduling.

BlackSky provides geospatial monitoring and alerting services. The company is launching its first four satellites in the next year, with a planned constellation of 60. The constellation will provide one-meter resolution color imagery with frequent revisit rates of 95 percent of the Earth’s population.
