[Via Satellite 08-11-2015] Comtech EF Data has received an order worth $1.4 million from a large mobile network operator in Latin America. The customer plans to update its satellite mobile backhaul network.

Comtech EF Data is providing CDM-625A/L advanced satellite modems with DoubleTalk Carrier-in-Carrier, CSAT 5060 C-band transceivers and the NetVue Integrated Management System. The company will also provide its Engineering Support Services (ESS) prime package, a service designed to support mission-critical networks with 24/7 engineering support, training, program management, remote network performance review and other technical services.

According to Comtech EF Data, the solution will minimize the mobile operator’s operational costs by improving satellite link efficiencies, network resource utilization and performance. In addition, the solution provides the underlying horsepower to support rising throughput demands on traditional satellite capacity while allowing the mobile operator to leverage High Throughput Satellite (HTS) designs in its future.
