[Via Satellite 12-11-2014] Globe Telecom, a Philippine telecommunications service provider, has partnered with iDirect to provide VSAT connectivity in areas of the Philippines unreached by terrestrial services. The company plans to use iDirect’s Evolution platform along with the X3 remote for high-speed connectivity to corporate clients. Globe Telecom also intends to run data services in the Philippines over a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network, with automated teller machines (ATMs), mining, and government services targeted as the first markets.

Part of the rationale for the VSAT network is to facilitate the establishment of disaster recovery networks for voice and data communications. The partnership marks iDirect’s entrance into the Philippine market.
