[Via Satellite 12-01-2014] Croatian post offices are now offering Eutelsat’s Tooway satellite broadband through the KA-SAT High Throughput Satellite (HTS). Intersat Telecom, Eutelsat’s regional partner, is providing the service.

Homes outside the reach of terrestrial broadband are given priority for the service, which offers download speeds of 22 Mbps and upload speeds of 6 Mbps. According to Eutelsat, more than 200,000 Croatian residents lack access to quality Internet connections for education, entertainment, communication and e-services.

Through Intersat Telecom, Croatian customers can purchase entry-level service with 8 GB of data for approximately $25 dollars. Packages include monthly data allowances of up to 100 GB and unlimited volumes between midnight and 6 a.m. Eutelsat has trained and certified Intersat Telecom employees on installing the requisite dish and satellite modem.
