Forever Group Myanmar Adds Five Transponders from Thaicom

[Via Satellite 04-04-2016] Direct to Home (DTH) operator and media company Forever Group Myanmar has entered a long-term contract with Thaicom for five additional transponders. The company currently uses three Thaicom transponders. Forever Group intends to use the satellite capacity to further the development of digital content delivery services and High Definition (HD) television in Myanmar.

“The capacity expansion agreement is in line with our business plan of providing the satellite capacity needed to fuel the fast growth the Asian broadcast and media industries have been experiencing. The deal with Forever Group also supports the Thai government’s initiative to increase trade within the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) region,” said Paiboon Panuwattanawong, CEO of Thaicom.
