[Via Satellite 11-26-2014] Globecast has entered an agreement with Measat Satellite Systems to broadcast U.S. network Home and Garden Television (HGTV) channel in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe. The channel will be carried in HD on the Measat 3 satellite’s global C-band footprint, which covers more than 100 countries.

Globecast will continue to provide playout, content preparation and select post-production services for HGTV, as the company already does for all four of Scripps Networks’ regional channels throughout the Asia Pacific: HGTV, Asian Food Channel, Food Network and the Travel Channel. For Measat, the inclusion of HGTV brings the number of HD channels at the company’s 91.5 degrees east video neighborhood to 57. HGTV will begin broadcasting from Measat 3 on Dec. 4 with content on topics such as property, hybrid construction and interior decorating.
