[Satellite Today 10-13-09] California-based Enterprise Satellite Solutions entered into a distribution agreement with U.K.-based Applied Satellite Technology (AST), providing Enterprise Satellite access to a range of mobile satellite system, the company announced.

            The deal will allow Enterprise Satellite to expand its sales and distribution with satellite providers such as Inmarsat, Thuraya and Iridium, adding to its current suite of satellite product lines such as Spacenet, Starband, Wild Blue Enterprise services, and iDirect platforms, Enterprise Satellite said. The company will maintain its operations in San Marcos, Calif., while opening new offices in strategic locations and expanding its business in Alaska.

            "We have consistently grown over the past several years and now look forward to working with a larger organization focused on becoming the premium provider of satellite services," Enterprise Satellite ower Ruth Droke said in a statement. "By combining with AST, [Enterprise Satellite] gains market share and new opportunities for larger volume purchases from providers."
