[Satellite Today 10-08-09] Comtech EF Data Corp. received a $2.9 million order for satellite communications equipment to support a network expansion in Asia, Comtech announced Oct. 7.

            Comtech EF Data will provide its high-end and mid-range satellite modems, including the CDM-710, the CDM-625, the CDM-600 and the DMD-20 models. The order also includes C- and Ku-band frequency down converters.

            “Our market-leading modems and converters will enable this customer to realize significant bandwidth efficiency and facilitate a cost-effective network expansion,” Fred Kornberg, president and CEO of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., said in a statement.
