Intorel UNVEILS BROADCAST, SATELLITE MONITORING SOLUTION

Intorel has rolled out Visionic version 4.2, a monitoring and control solution for the broadcast and satellite industry.

The latest version features upgrades such as an augmented alarm system, the ability to rearrange client windows and new device drivers for Advent AUPC 4000 and Multipoint.

Intorel is making Visionic 4.2 available to customers who have a maintenance contract with the company.

Optus LAUNCHES DUAL-MODE HANDSET.

Australia’s Optus has launched the Thuraya GSM/satellite dual mode handset in Australia. The handset allows customers to use the same phone on both the Optus GSM and Thuraya satellite networks and is being sold in selected Optus retail outlets.

The company said the release aims to increase its customer’s access to the latest technology and innovative mobile solutions in the more remote and regional areas of Australia.

Starling INTRODUCES LAND VEHICLE ANTENNA SYSTEM

Starling Advanced Communications is introducing its StarCar antenna system for land vehicles. The self-contained antenna system features RF and electronics housed directly on the antenna.

The StarCar solution uses Starling’s multi-panel antenna technology, providing performance of up to 40 megabits per second to provide voice, streaming Internet and video transmissions.

Starling also offers a full line of Ku-band antennas, including its Mijet Family line of airborne antennas.

Xiplink RELEASES MOBILE SATELLITE WIRELESS OPTIMIZER.

Xiplink has released the XipStick, a wireless optimizer for mobile satellite services. The self-contained, palm-sized wireless optimizer runs XipLink Optimization Software version 2.7 and is installed between a remote PC and any mobile satellite service terminal while transparently optimizing the wireless bandwidth.

The unit also delivers access to XipLink’s kernel-coded protocol acceleration, streaming data compression and Internet optimization in a portable device with built-in IPSec.
