Lon Levin, co-founder of XM Satellite Radio and satellite industry veteran, has joined Slacker Inc. as senior advisor, Slacker announced April 3.
Levin is an entrepreneur and executive with over 20 years’ experience in new media, satellite and wireless companies including Mobile Satellite Ventures, XM Canada, Motient, Terrestar Networks and American Mobile Satellite Corp.
“Slacker has a truly disruptive approach to radio,” said Levin. “I am thrilled to be part of the next significant phase in great radio and music. Slacker is about providing an amazing music listening experience that is simple to use and wonderful to hear.”
In the second half of this year, consumers will be able to buy Slacker Portable Radio Players via Wi-Fi, and Slacker Satellite Car Kits, allowing personalized radio playback in an automobile. Its service can be currently sampled online at www.slacker.com.
