The European Technical Standards Institute (ETSI) has approved and published the SES SDR standard for satellite digital radio services in Europe, Ondas Media announced.

The standard has been developed by the ETSI Satellite Earth Stations & Systems – Satellite Digital Radio work group, which includes organizations such as Ondas, Delphi Electronics & Safety, Fraunhofer IIS and Kenwood Electronics.

Ondas Media plans to launch satellite radio services in Europe in 2009.
