Qinetiq Group PLC, an international defense and security technology company, announced Oct. 24 the appointment of George Tenet as an independent non-executive director.

Tenet served as director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from 1997 to 2004 under presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, with service as staff director of the Senate Committee on Intelligence and a membership on the National Security Council.

He is a professor at Georgetown University, a board director of Guidance Software Inc. and L-1 Identity Solutions and sits on the advisory board of The Analysis Corp.
